Abstract

Digital representation redefines individuals' identity formation and expression processes while simultaneously emerging as a multilayered phenomenon influenced by ideological, technological, and structural forces. Critically interpreting these forms of representation contributes to both individual awareness, social equality, and the preservation of democratic debate and diversity.

This article focuses on how individuals and communities express and represent themselves in the digital environment. The opportunities offered by new media technologies have led to radical changes in identity construction, social belonging, cultural production, and aesthetic forms.

In the 21st century, where digitalization has rapidly spread, the ways individuals express themselves have undergone significant transformations. Social media platforms, online games, blogs, video-sharing sites, and messaging apps have created new communication spaces where individuals can present their identities, thoughts, and ideas in multimodal and interactive ways. It examines the structural and technological aspects of forms of expression in digital environments, analyzing how they differ from traditional narrative forms and the social impacts they generate. The multilayered nature of digital expression units transforms traditional understandings of representation, paving the way for fluid and plural representations.
